Global entertainer Beyoncé joins forces with Topshop owner Sir Phillip Green for an activewear line.
The un-named collection, listed as Parkwood Topshop Athletic Ltd, is a 50-50 partnership between the British retailer and the multi-talented superstar. The forthcoming assortment will range from “clothing, footwear and accessories across dance, fitness and sports categories.”
The “Flawless” artist is thrilled about her looming fashion project with Topshop. “I have always loved Topshop for its fashion credentials and forward thinking,” said Beyoncé in a press statement. “Working with its development team to create and produce a technical and fashion-led collection is exciting, and I’m looking forward to participating in all aspects of this partnership.”
The owner of the British apparel line believes that Beyoncé was the perfect candidate for the streetwear undertaking. “We have been looking at this category as fashion-inspired fitness develops, and know that this is right in our customers’ heartland,” said Green.
“Creating a partnership with Beyoncé, one of the most hardworking and talented people in the world, who spends many hours of her life dancing, rehearsing and training is a unique opportunity to develop this category.”
The athletic streetwear line will debut next fall.
