The music industry’s latest gift Sam Smith took his In The Lonely Hour campaign overseas to The X Factor UK results show last night (November 9).
Backed by a powerhouse choir, the UK bred crooner served fans his first televised performance of “Like I Can,” which is the latest single from his debut album. His soulful pipes glided effortlessly over the up-tempo instrumental as his vocal presence commanded the attention of the audience.
Last month, Smith announced the dates for his 16-date In The Lonely Hour North American Tour. The series of shows will kick off in Atlanta at the Fox Theatre on January 9.
Smith is also scheduled to perform at the 2014 American Music Awards on November 23. He’s been nominated for two AMAs including New Artist of the Year and Favorite Male Artist – Pop/Rock.
