K. Michelle’s Anybody Wanna Buy A Heart promotional grind doesn’t stop. After the airing of her latest K. Michelle: My Life episode, the singer-songwriter premiered her “Maybe I Should Call” music video.
The emotional clip begins a year ago with the “Damn” singer on one side of a door arguing with a former lover. After the quarrel comes to a close and she opens the door to find her bed to cry her eyes out, the video fast-forwards to the present.
In the next scene, K. Michelle is found standing in the middle of a road. Unfamiliar with her surroundings, she turns around to a familiar face running toward her direction. With her arms open wide, she soon realizes that he isn’t running to greet her, nor does he see her for that matter.
Throughout the rest of the Iren Sheffield Brown-directed film, it shows an ‘invisible’ singer sitting in the backseat of her old flame’s car as he greets his new boo and his newborn. Later, K. Michelle joins the two lovers uninvited and unnoticed at their dinner table as she sings the words to the painful ballad.
All in all, the music video for “Maybe I Should Call” is by far one of her best visuals. According to the ending credits, this could be because the video is based on a true story.
AWBAH is slated to release on December 9 via Atlantic Records.
