Mary J. Blige knows how to deliver a moving performance. With her new album The London Sessions in stores, the modern-day Aretha Franklin performs her Sam Smith penned record “Not Loving You” for Capitol Records “1 Mic, 1 Take” series.
Donning an oversized black outfit and wearing Tom Ford glasses, the 43-year-old singer renders a powerful message about self-love. “I love you, I want you to be all that you can / If I could, then I would but you know that I can’t / No I can’t,” sings the “Therapy” singer.
Last week, The London Sessions debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 after selling 55,000 copies in its first week.
