After winning Best R&B Album for Love, Marriage & Divorce with Toni Braxton at The 57th Grammys on Sunday (Feb.8), music genius Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds readies his own solo album for 2015.
While on the red carpet at music’s biggest night, Babyface spoke briefly to Billboard about his eighth studio album, which he hopes will be out by this September. “I’ve been working on that for a little bit,” said the Tender Lover artist.
In addition to revealing a tentative album release date, Babyface shared what it meant to win the Best R&B Album gramophone with Braxton. “It’s been a while since I won one [Grammy Award]. It’s a nice thing to win with Toni Braxton as well. We worked hard on the record,” he said. “It’s just one of those things where you feel very blessed and very honored to even win one. To even be nominated as well.”
Babyface released his last album Playlist in 2007, which spawned the single “Fire and Rain,” a cover of James Taylor’s ’70s hit single.
