D’Angelo served as a musical guest on Saturday Night Live this past weekend. Backed by his band, The Vanguard, the soul veteran performed songs off his critically acclaimed album Black Messiah including “Really Love” and “The Charade.”
During his performance for the latter song, D’Angelo wore a black hoodie while his band wore t-shirts with “I Can’t Breathe” and “Black Lives Matter” written on them.
D’Angelo and The Vanguard will remain in New York City for their show at the Apollo Theater on Feb. 7. Immediately following, they will travel to Europe as part of their Second Coming Tour.
