R&B newcomer Matthew Writes has released his new single “Be Me.” On the heartfelt track, Writes reflects on his past relationship and blames himself for the breakup.
“I done beat myself up about it / And I can’t say I’m proud about it / Because I did you wrong and you moved on,” sings Writes.
“Be Me” is a prelude to a series of records Writes plans to release throughout the year.
Hailing from North Carolina, Matthew Writes is slowly creating a buzz among his pears and colleagues. While fusing Hip-Hop, Pop, and R&B, he promises to deliver an experience like never before. Following the release of his debut EP +1: A Songwriter’s EP, back in 2013, he began working with several new artists including Jason Woods (a background singer who recently performed with Beyoncé) and Tiffany Stevenson (a noted background vocalist who has performed artists like Faith Evans and Mack Wilds).
