Today, Patti LaBelle stopped by the ABC’s The View to give the co-hosts lessons on how to be her backup singers.
Before singing, the 70-year-old veteran gave special instructions to each co-hosts. LaBelle asked Whoopi Goldberg to sing alto and requested Raven-Symone to sing soprano. Meanwhile, the legendary singer had Nicolle Wallace lip-sync while she instructed Rosie Perez to “do a shake dance-like move because you can’t sing.”
With all ladies on one accord, the quintet performed LaBelle’s classic tune “Lady Marmalade” for the live studio audience.
