Sevyn Streeter joins forces with her boyfriend for her new summer banger “Shoulda Been There.” The Andrew Listermann produced track is lifted off Streeter’s forthcoming project, Shoulda Been There Pt. 1, which releases digitally on July 17.
The compilation of songs on Shoulda Been There Pt. 1 should hold over fans while Streeter preps her debut album, On The Verge. In an Q&A with fans, Streeter explained the concept of Shoulda Been There Pt. 1, “#ShouldaBeenThere isn’t my album. This is me, a singer/songwriter expressing a specific moment in my life thru records. I really want yall to understand that I’m not your typical artist. I write my records from my heart, life & experiences. I had the idea..To release these songs before my album b/c I don’t wanna carry that energy into my new space & first album. I talked to my label & they understood.”
