After releasing his Lil Wayne assisted single last week, “Why I Do It,” August Alsina reveals more details about his new album. The New Orleans native confirmed on Instagram his sophomore album will be titled This Thing Called Life.
“Played my new album #ThisThingCalledLife for Khaled nem’ .. Here’s some of what they had to say,” he posted along with a video of DJ Khaled sharing his thoughts on Alsina’s album.
“I like the way you sequenced the album. I love the music. The only time I’ve ever heard albums like that was Dr. Dre’s Chronic or Nas’ Illmatic,” said DJ Khaled.
Earlier this month, Alsina teased the album title on Twitter. “#ThisThingCalledLife got me Thinking Out Loud,” he wrote. “Just threw that album title in ya face just like that Thea,” he wrote in another tweet.
This Thing Called Life is slated to release later this year. It is the follow-up to his debut album, Testimony, released in 2014.
