RCA Records/BetIPennedIt artist Avery Wilson recently held a private listening session at Zac’s Recording Studio in Atlanta to formally introduce himself to opinion leaders. The intimate gathering was hosted by Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Sean Garrett and included a Q&A moderated by journalist Rea Davis.
Garrett kicked off the session by praising Wilson for his talents. Following the speech, Wilson took the floor to showcase his vocal skills. He performed a soulful rendition of Donnie Hathaway’s “A Song For You,” an acoustic cover of The Weeknd’s “Earned It” and an interesting cover of Fetty Wap’s “My Way.”
Following his effortless performance, Davis moderated a Q&A with him where he spoke candidly about a range of topics including his vocal ability, working with Clive Davis and Sean Garrett, his Grammy experience and more.
Garrett challenged all media in the room to be the chief purveyors of quality music to the masses. He called on the media to realize the power of their role, voice, and purpose. Garrett also stressed the importance of ending the divisiveness that seems to permeate urban music, as he explained that fans and media should be proactive in supporting exceptional music in all genres.
