You better watch out for Francesco Yates because he’ll be everywhere soon. The 20-year-old singer from Toronto has released his self-titled debut EP and we love it!
The 6-track offering showcases Yates’ impressive vocal range that will satisfy real music lovers. He starts off strong with the opening track “Honey I’m Home.” Although Yates’ vocals soar on the track, it wasn’t easy to record since he’s a perfectionist.
“We had to do it over and over again,” Francesco says. “It was funny – the way we got it was on the very last take. I was giving up and a sudden jolt of energy just came through me and we just kept whatever was there. It feels right.”
Yates’ new EP should hold over listeners while he readies his debut album that will release via Atlantic Records.
“I really want to accomplish as much as I can with this debut album,” says Francesco, who has been co-signed by artists like Pharrell Williams and Justin Timberlake. “I want it to be the biggest thing of my generation. It may sound far-fetched and crazy, but that is the end goal. Whatever steps I can take to get there, I’ll take them. We live in a world of complication, and I just want to bring people out of that and get them to have a good time. If I can do that, then I will feel I will have done my part.”
