Actress/singer Tisha Campbell-Martin sheds light on her dark past in her “Steel Here” music video. The Viktorija Pashuta video addresses Campbell-Martin’s past sexual abuse. Not too long ago, she revealed that she she was sexually abused at the age of three.
Every moment of the symbolic video has a strong meaning. In the video, Campbell-Martin is seen with writing all over her body, which are the actual words from an apology letter she recently received from her abuser. “By blessing me [with] the apology letter he allotted me the ability to be free and to forgive #blessed #thankful,” Campbell-Martin tweeted.
“The color of the dress reps beauty and strength each dancer attached 2 me reps purging of anger, grudge, pain… low self esteem, self-deprecation or any negative emotion being released and the freedom from it,” Campbell-Martin tweeted.
