The Weeknd has a lot to be proud of these days. The 25-year-old singer’s new album, Beauty Behind The Madness, made an impressive debut on the Billboard 200 chart at No. 1 with 412,000 equivalent album units sold in the first week. Of that total, 326,000 units were from pure sales.
The “Earned It” singer also scored the second-largest overall weekly unit total and pure sales week for an album so far this year, right behind Drake’s If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late.
The Weeknd’s previous album Kiss Land, released in 2013, debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200.
This fall, The Weeknd will kick off his Madness Fall Tour in his hometown. The 22-city tour will travel across North America, hitting cities like New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Montreal, Atlanta, Miami and more.
