August Alsina continues to tease his fans ahead of the release of This Thing Called Life. The R&B heartthrob has premiered two new tracks that will be on the album — “Been Around The World” featuring Chris Brown and “Dreamer.”
“Been Around The World,” produced by Knucklehead, samples Lisa Stansfield’s 1989 classic “All Around The World.”
“It’s the dopest record for Chris and I,” Alsina told Rap-Up. “It’s a very, very fun record. Like I said, I been around the world and experienced a lot of whatever—a lot of girls, a lot of situations, so to sum it up, that’s the song.”
On “Dreamer,” Alsina tells a story about a young guy and a young girl who made the wrong life decisions.
“She fell in love with the ballers and bottles / He fell in love with the block and the glock, now he totin’ the choppers / Why does it seem like nobody want to be lawyers or doctors? / Now a days everybody out here tryna be dealers and models,” he sings.
This Thing Called Life will release on Dec. 11 via Def Jam Records. The album is available for pre-order on iTunes.
