Ever wanted to collaborate with legendary singer Chaka Khan? You can now — well, sorta. The award-winning singer is inviting fans to submit a video clip of themselves for her new single, “I Love Myself,” which will debut on Feb. 19 via MondoTunes/iKhan Records/LLC. Fans can submit a one-minute video clip of themselves lip-synching to the chorus, now through Feb. 19. Khan and her team will pick the best clips to be featured in the official video for “I Love Myself.”
“I Love Myself” is an inspirational song that encourages love and self-respect across all races, classes, genders, physical challenges, sexual orientations and more.
“It is important that in these troubled times we honor our own self-respect,” says Khan. “Beauty knows no boundaries and is accepting of us all whether black, white, gay, straight, physically or mentally-challenged.”
A percentage of the net proceeds from the single will benefit two important organizations — Face Forward (www.faceforwardla.org) and STOMP Out Bullying (www.STOMPOutBullying.org) – chosen for their importance in assisting those who have been the victims of domestic violence and discrimination.
