Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc is back with his brand new single “Let The Games Begin,” lifted from the RACE movie soundtrack. On the drum layered tune paired with horns, Blacc soars with motivational words that could be applied to any situation — not just sports.
“Let the games begin / Let the best one win / Let the fire light / Burn through the night / Let the whole world see / True victory,” he sings on the chorus.
Race, along with its soundtrack, will premiere nationwide on Feb. 19. The movie is based on the incredible true story of Jesse Owens (portrayed by Stephan James), the legendary athletic superstar whose quest to become the greatest track and field athlete in history thrusts him onto the world stage of the 1936 Olympics, where he faces off against Adolf Hitler’s vision of Aryan supremacy.
