Zendaya makes an official return to her music career with her new single “Something New” featuring Chris Brown.
Produced by Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds and Khris Riddick-Tynes, “Something New” borrows a few elements from TLC’s classic song “Creep.” The subject matter on the rhythmic tune helps transitions Zendaya from her teen sensation image to a young adult.
“Don’t know your name but I guess I don’t really care / I probably should wait but I wanna let you go there / I wanna try something new all night,” Zendaya sings on the catchy hook.
Zendaya is working on the follow-up to her self-titled debut album, which debuted at No. 51 on the Billboard 200. Although the sales weren’t flattering, the music was actually nice. Hopefully, with her new deal with Republic Records, Zendaya’s second album gets the proper push it deserves.
