Verse Simmonds is back with a Prince-inspired song titled “Never Get Enough.” The percussion-driven track includes an interpolation of the late singer’s classic song “When Doves Cry.”
“Never Get Enough” is lifted from Simmonds’ upcoming album, To All The Girls, due this summer.
According to Simmonds, he coincidentally planned to premiere the accompanying video two weeks ago. However, due to Prince’s untimely death Simmonds decided to postpone the release out of respect.
“We wanted to release this video 2 weeks ago, but due to the timing of Prince’s passing we found it to be more appropriate to wait as we didn’t want it to appear that we released it around his death for exposure purposes rather than the real reason: inspiration and love of the original record. Rest In Peace to the Purple One,” Simmonds said.
