Nearly 20 years after its release, the romantic drama Love Jones will be remade into a musical this fall.
Rap veteran MC Lyte broke the news on her Instagram account last week. Written and directed by Theodore, the stage play adaptation will feature a star-studded cast of R&B singers including Musiq Soulchild, Raheem DeVaughn, Marsha Ambrosius, Chrisette Michele and Dave Hollister. MC Lyte will also star in the play.
The film Love Jones, released in 1997, originally co-starred Larenz Tate and Nia Long. The soundtrack featured contributions from Maxwell, Kenny Lattimore, Xscape, Lauryn Hill and Groove Theory, to name a few.
