After debuting “Thick of It” during her live performance last week, Mary J. Blige shares the studio version. The heartfelt tune was written by Jazmine Sullivan and produced by DJ Camper.
“So tell me who’s going to you like I do? / Who will you trust? / I gave you too much / Enough is enough / Now we’re in the thick of it,” Blige sings
“Thick of It” officially premiered today on The Steve Harvey Morning Show. “I’m in the middle of a divorce,” Blige told Harvey. “It doesn’t feel good. It feels terrible but I have strength to get through. So if you listen to the words you hear where I’m in — I’m in the thick of it.”
“Thick of It” is the lead single from Blige’s forthcoming album, Strength of a Woman, which is scheduled to arrive in December.
Blige also recorded a song with Kanye West called “Love Yourself.”
In other news, Blige will kick off the North American leg of her co-headlining King and Queen of Hearts World Tour with Maxwell on November 5 in Baltimore.
