Robin Thicke pairs up with Nas on his new single “Deep.” Nas opens the track with a socially-conscious verse about police brutality.
“The problem’s gettin’ worse, a modern 1970, Johannesburg / Man, it hurts to see a cop kill a black man alert / News flash, police shoot blacks, distort facts / 3Quick attack, unarmed men, murder them,” he raps.
Thicke later sings about relationship issues that aren’t that important with all that’s happening in the world.
“We could be everything, everything that we ever needed / Everything that we ever wanted to be, we could still be / It ain’t that deep, it ain’t that deep,” he sings.
“Deep” is the follow-up to 2015’s “Morning Sun.” There’s no word if the latter track will appear on Thicke’s upcoming project.
