Alicia Keys and emerging rapper Young M.A brought their “Blended Family” to The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Young M.A kicked off the show with a dope verse about her blended family experience.
“Growing up, I had a little sister, older brother / For us, a father figure was a single mother / My daddy was locked up / My momma was knocked up / And every now and then my brother’s father would pop up / But I consider him dad,” she rapped.
Stationed at a piano, Keys and The Roots brought the song home.
“There ain’t nothing I won’t do for us / It may not be easy / This blended family, but baby / That’s what you do, what you do, what you do / What you do for love, love,” Keys sang.
The original version of “Blended Family” features rapper ASAP Rocky. However, he wasn’t able to make it to the show.
“Blended Family” appears on Keys’ new album, Here, out now.
