Justine Skye surprises fans with the release of her brand new EP titled 8 Ounces. The EP consists of nine tracks, including “Fun” featuring Washington, D.C. rapper Wale.
“Eight ounces is the average weight of the female heart,” Justine told Genius. “Now that I’m 21, I’m meeting different people from different parts of the world and I’m figuring out myself more and figuring out guys more. This whole EP is my diary of situations that I’ve gone through since my last project.”
Skye worked closely with The-Dream and Tricky Stewart to create 8 Ounces. “The-Dream was like my diary,” she said. “I would sit there and talk his ear off about all my guy situations; he would just turn my stories into songs.”
8 Ounces follows Skye’s 2015 EP Emotionally Unavailable.
