With his latest single “Long Song Away” in the Top 5 on urban adult contemporary radio, Kevin Ross unleashes a visual for the track.
Directed by Christopher Scholar, the video shows Ross and his love interest facing trials in the relationship. Instead of giving up on each other, the two go on a romantic date and rekindle the flame they once had.
“Long Song Away” is the title track to Ross’ latest EP, which dropped late last year.
“Long Song Away, the EP, is kind of the prequel to the album,” Ross told Rated R&B in an interview. “I wanted to create a body of work that reflected on [2016]. It feels good. It vibes really well and gets me really excited to show people the album — let people listen to it and for them to go in and take it in for themselves.”
Ross is expected to drop his debut album, The Awakening, this year via Motown Records. “It’s a very vulnerable and transparent record that speaks on a lot of issues that’s going on now,” he explained.
