The Internet’s lead vocalist Syd’s debut album, Fin, has arrived. Released on Columbia Records, the project is packed with 12 sultry tracks including “All About Me” and “Body.” There is only one featured guest, 6LACK, who appears on “Over.”
Although Fin is Syd’s first solo album, the singer says she doesn’t plan on performing as a solo act.
“I’ve been seeing this as a side project, for sure,” Syd told Esquire. “I feel like once you go with a band, it’s hard to go back. I just don’t see myself performing without a band. And I definitely don’t see myself going and finding another band to perform with.”
Syd, who was used to creating music organically with The Internet, admits the process of creating Fin was a bit nerve-wracking. “This definitely was a different process,” she said.
“Booking a session and going into a room with a producer that you’re meeting for the first time and having them play you something…everybody kind of has the general expectation that a song is going to get written in the next couple hours. There is a little bit of anxiety in that process.”
