Bahja is back on the R&B scene with her new single “Necessary.”
On the island-tinged track, Bahja keeps the message clear: these girls have nothing on her. “I’m living out my dreams, I made them my reality/now everywhere I go, they say they proud of me/every function that I hit, they all surrounding me/and you better watch your n*gga cuz he clocking me,” she sings.
“Necessary” is her first single under her new record label Street Sxholar and her first original musical offering since 2016’s Luv EP.
Rodriguez, who know just goes by Bahja, began her music career as a member of the Tiny Harris-managed girl group OMG Girlz. She officially transitioned into solo artistry with the release of her single “Jealous Type” in 2015. Slowly building her fanbase, Bahja now boasts over 300,000 Instagram followers, over 400,000 Twitter followers, and over 22,000 followers on SoundCloud.
