‘Don’t take it personal’ but Lyrica Anderson isn’t looking to rekindle with an ex. The singer-songwriter has exclusively premiered the video for her new single “Dolla Bills” featuring Ty Dolla Sign on Rated R&B.
On the A1 Bentley-produced track, Anderson tells her ex — who wants her back — that she is only focused on making her coins at this point. “My love speak a different language / Guess you’ll never ever understand it / Boy I promise I ain’t budging.”
She later adds, “Never going back / Take your heart and throw it in the trash / I’m gonna turn your love into some stacks / ‘Cause cash rules everything around me.” Dolla Sign co-signs with, “We be gettin’ money on this side.”
The colorful video was directed by Sean Alexander and features Anderson and a few topless women wearing body paint.
“This video was inspired by the fashion of body paint,” Anderson told Rated R&B in an email. “I hope when fans watch this video, they see and feel creatively free.”
“Dolla Bills” is the follow-up to “Don’t Take It Personal.” Both songs are from Anderson’s forthcoming album, Adia, which will release on September 29 via EMPIRE. The EP’s title was inspired by her twin sister who died at the age of three.
