Bria Jhane Doubles Up with New Tracks ‘Text Back’ and ‘Fragile’

Just a week after releasing her debut single “Over You,” Bria Jhane is back with new singles “Text Back” and “Fragile.”

On “Text Back,” Jhane describes the first swirl of thoughts and feelings upon first meeting a potential suitor.

“I’ll never be the same, never feel the same, no / All I got is myself to blame, I will never be the same, no / Champagne kisses, already miss this / We’re too young, we’re too young / We’re too dumb,” she sings.

On “Fragile,” the story continues as Jhane has finally gotten her text back. Now, fear and insecurity begin to set in again as she’s facing a possible future with her new love interest.

“I hope we’re not finished before we even started / I hope there’s not a closet full of girls that’s brokenhearted / Although I’m relentless, there’s things underneath / I’d rather leave unseen,” she sings.

“Text Back” and “Fragile” are the second and third offerings from Jhane since the finale of VH1’s Signed aired in mid-September. She was a contestant on the reality music competition, earning a contract with The-Dream’s RadioKilla Records by the show’s end.

Stream Janine’s Debut Album ’99’

Janine has finally released her debut album, 99.

Produced by Jono Dorr and œç¡l, the 11-track offering finds the Atlantic Records signee opting out of guest appearances. This approach allows listeners to stay focused only on her alluring voice and lyrical content. The LP includes fan favorites “Unstable,” “Never the Right Time,” “Hold On,” and “Too Late.” The latter track has an accompanying visual.

Janine shared the significance of her album title. “The name 99 stands for being one step away from being complete,” she said. “It’s also the time I started to become conscious of the music I really liked. A lot of music from the late ’90s and early 2000s ended up being a huge influence on the album.”

Janine recently celebrated her 99 album release party with her family, friends, fans and industry tastemakers in Los Angeles. She made a homemade hot sauce for everyone as giveaways.

Drew Scott Releases ‘Mindful’ Song

After sharing “Unhealthy” in January, Drew Scott makes a return with a brand new song titled “Mindful.”

Over a reggae-influenced beat, Scott reminds his woman that she is his only love. “Girl when it comes to my heart, I swear you are the only one,” he sings.

Scott explained the meaning behind “Mindful” in a statement to Rated R&B. “With technology these days, it’s easy to get distracted even when you’re in a relationship,” he said. “’Mindful’ is a reminder to cut out all the noise. Forget what everyone else is saying and focus on what makes you happy.”

“Mindful” is the third single from Scott’s upcoming project, Places I’ve Ever Been, Vol. 3, which releases on June 15. Scott plans to release a visual for “Simple” within the next couple of weeks.

Vol. 3 is the follow-up to Scott’s 2016 EP, Detour
