The day has finally come: Demetria McKinney has released her long-awaited debut album Officially Yours.
In an interview with Radio One, McKinney details what her debut album will mean to her fans. “Those who have seen those characters [that I play on TV] and gotten a chance to see me in my work element, tis your opportunity for to give you me, and all of it. My cookyness, my fun, my sadness, my strength, my vulnerability because I think it’s something that we, especially as women, can all relate to.”
The Kandi Burruss executive produced LP has two bonus tracks (“B.S.” and “Home”) and features four previously released tracks: lead single “Easy,” current single “Happy,” “Is This Love,” and the latest offering “No, No, No.” The album includes an interlude and features from Demarco and the legendary Jazze Pha.
Outside of music, McKinney is set to star in multiple roles in the new television season, including SyFy’s new Mario Van Peebles-led show “Superstition,” which premieres tonight, October 6, at 10/9c.
