Stream Lalah Hathaway’s New Album ‘Honestly’

Lalah Hathaway is back with Honestly good music. The five-time Grammy Award winning artist has released her new album, Honestly, via Hathaway Entertainment/Caroline Distribution.

The album consists of nine songs, all spelled in lowercase, including its upbeat lead effort “I Can’t Wait,” which has reached No. 21 on urban adult contemporary radio.

Hathaway worked closely with up-and-coming producer, Tiffany Gouché on Honestly. “We did the whole record,” Hathaway told interviewer. “We co-wrote all of the songs, she produced all the tracks. We co-produced the whole album, it’s just us two. I was really trying to do something new and come from a new perspective.”

Hathaway will travel across the nation this winter to support her new album. She will kick off her tour on January 16 at The Pageant in St Louis, Missouri.

Stream Priscilla Renea’s New Album ‘Coloured’

Singer-songwriter Priscilla Renea has released her sophomore album, Coloured.

The country-inspired album, which was recorded in Nashville, is described as “a fierce, political, and personal collection of stories that reckon with Priscilla’s childhood in rural Florida, sublime love, violent heartbreak and racial trauma.”

Coloured includes previously released songs “Let’s Build a House” and “Family Tree.” Ahead of the new project, Renea released a dual cinematic visual for “Gentle Hands” and “Heavenly.”

Coloured, the follow-up to 2009’s Jukebox, features production and writing contributions from Honorable C.N.O.T.E, Ashley Gorley, Curtis “Sauce” Wilson, Kevin Kadish, Theron Feemster and Brett James.

Listen to Justin Love’s New EP ‘When Love Returns’

Rising singer Justin Love has released his new EP When Love Returns.

The nine-track offering, which features no guest appearances, is packed with radio-friendly melodies and laid back vibes. The project includes previously released tracks “Models” and “Bed Springs,” which has an accompanying visual. He even gives us a taste of his iSingHipHop, an alter ego he cites as his “bread and butter.”

In April, Love shared with Rated R&B the stories he wanted to tell on his new EP. “When Love Returns is literally the return of love,” he said. “I haven’t dropped material in a good two or three years because of a situation I was in. I was legally tied to working with other people I didn’t want to work with. I couldn’t blatantly say that to my fans, though. I could only hint that towards them at least at that time.”

He added, “Now, I can say whatever I want. I was just legally bound to people. When Love Returns is just the return of me showing the world that I’ve been working and I’m here to stay. I’m going to give a bunch of different vibes. They’re going to get a little iSingHipHop, which is my hip hop-singing shit.”

Love is currently working on his debut album, which will be released independently. He plans to support the album with a tour.
