Jessie Reyez enlists her fellow Toronto native Daniel Caesar for a new version of her popular single “Figures.” Reyez’ and Caesar’s unique voices blend perfectly together on the breakup anthem.
“I wish I could hurt you back / Love, what would you do if you couldn’t get me back,” Reyez sings. Caesar co-signs Reyez’ feelings in the second verse. “Wish that I could help myself, give my love to someone else / Stuck to you, you turn me to a fool,” he sings.
The two performed the song live for the first time at the Juno Awards, where Reyez won 2018 Breakthrough Artist of the Year and Caesar won R&B/Soul Recording of the Year for his debut album, Freudian.
The original version of “Figures” appears on Reyez’ 2017 EP, Kiddo, and has over 70 million streams worldwide.
Last December, Reyez released her single “Cotton Candy.”
