Ne-Yo enlists pop artist Bebe Rexha and British rapper Stefflon Don for his latest single, “Push Back.” The dancehall-inspired track, produced by Stargate, celebrates body confidence and how two people can connect through dance.
“Yeah, I’ve been looking at you, looking at you, watching / The way that you whine it and pop it / One more time, girl, whine it, pop it, yeah, yeah / That drink got me feeling alright / Yeah, I’ve been looking at you, looking at you, watching / The way that you whine it and pop it / One more time, girl, whine it, pop it, yeah, yeah / That drink got me feeling alright,” Ne-Yo sings on the rhythmic track.
Speaking on his new single, Ne-Yo says, “I love a woman who knows how to move. I love a woman that has her own self, her own heart and mind. She’s comfortable with her body. And when her song comes on, she’s gonna get up and move. She’s gonna show you just how confident and comfortable she is. ‘Push Back’ is about these women.”
“Push Back” is the second single from Ne-Yo’s forthcoming album, Good Man, which is set to arrive on June 8 via Compound Entertainment/Motown Records.
Speaking on Good Man, Ne-Yo said, “This album focuses on the journey of what it is to be a good man: a good man to your spouse, a good brother to your brother, a good person to the world. I am not proclaiming to be perfect. A good man makes mistakes, learns from those mistakes, therefore to not then repeat those mistakes. Being a good man is a journey.”
In February, Ne-Yo released the title track as the lead single.
