Jeremih and Ty Dolla $ign Hold ‘The Light’ On New Song

Jeremih and Ty Dolla $ign show their love for music from the ’80s and ’90s on their new song “The Light,” lifted off their upcoming joint project MihTy. Produced by Hitmaka, the feel-good jam samples Keni Burke’s ’80s smash “Risin’ to the Top,” which was later borrowed by Mary J. Blige on “Love No Limit” in 1992.

Ty coos sweet nothings to this special lady, singing, “Let’s have sex but not without the foreplay / But not without the first date.” Jeremih gets in on the action, using lines from “Back in the Day” by West Coast rapper Ahmad. “Back in the days when I was young I’m not a kid anymore, but these days I’m thinking maybe we should fuck again,” sings the Late Nights crooner.

MihTy will drop later this summer with features from Lil’ Wayne, French Montana and Chris Brown. Ty revealed the details on the joint effort on Zane Lowe’s Apple Music show in May, “That’s like a full-length album. I’m so excited for that one. We did it with my bro, Hitmaka. He produced the whole shit, so it’s like a consistent album of bangers” he shared.

Bryson Tiller and Tory Lanez Share New Song ‘Keep in Touch’

Tory Lanez and Bryson Tiller “Keep in Touch” with their distant lovers on their new collaboration. Tiller kicks off the retrospective track with a sweet ode to an old honey.

“You always got me on standby, when you know I need love,” Tiller coos. “I’m missing when we was us, Miss when I wasn’t famous / That’s when we could be us.”

Lanez picks up the phone and expresses his feelings to his old flame, singing, “I’m in first class, thinking about how you would get me right /Damn near made me miss the flight.”

“Keep in Touch” is set to appear on Lanez’ upcoming album, Love Me Now? The new project follows Memories Don’t Lie, which was released in March.

“I honestly can say that I’m more excited about this project than any of my previous ones,” commented Lanez on Love Me Now? “I feel like I’ve over-analyzed how musical and lyrical and balanced my albums had to be, therefore making the process take longer. This time around I’m just in a great space creatively and I don’t care about the opinions of anybody but my fans and real supporters.”

Tiller is working on Serenity, his follow-up to 2017’s True to Self. He is featured on H.E.R.’s new project, I Used to Know Her.

Leon Thomas Shares New Song ‘PLW’

Leon Thomas celebrates the power of women on his new single “PLW.” Short for “pretty little weapon,” the sharp guitar solo hears Thomas praising the sophisticated swag of his special lady.

“She’s a high heels killer, with the moves like Thriller / Only five-star dinner, she’s a sometimes sinner,” he sings in his amazing falsetto.

“PLW” is the third offering from Thomas’ forthcoming EP, Genesis, due this Friday (Aug. 24) on Priority Records. The 7-track project will include his Buddy-assisted single “Favorite” and “Sunken Place.” Elle Varner has lent her jazz cadence to a track titled “Beg.”

Mentored by music legend Babyface, Thomas is also one-half of the production/songwriting duo, The Rascals. They have worked with a variety of stars including Toni Braxton, Ariana Grande and Ty Dolla $ign, among others.
