Kiana Ledé teams with rappers Moe Green and Daveed Diggs on a new song titled “Running to the Sky.”
The conscious track is lifted from the first installment of a three-part soundtrack for the upcoming film, Blindspotting.
“Running from this crazy place / I need somewhere to hide / Ain’t got nothin’ but sweet taste of freedom on my mind / Wonderin’ where I should go, I don’t know / Do I even try? / I just keep my hands high and I / Running to the sky,” Ledé sings on the chorus.
The second release, The Miles EP, is scheduled to go live on July 27 in tandem with the film’s North American theatrical opening. The two EP releases are named after the lead characters.
Lifelong friends Daveed Diggs and Rafael Casal co-wrote and star in this timely and wildly entertaining story about the intersection of race and class set against the backdrop of a rapidly gentrifying Oakland.
In other news, Ledé released her debut EP, Selfless, last week. The project includes her A$AP Ferg-assisted track “Fairplay (Remix).”
