It’s been almost two decades since Tamia jumped the broom with Grant Hill, and she’s still in marital bliss. The singer celebrates their 19th wedding anniversary with a beautiful ballad titled “Today I Do.”
Co-written by Lil Ronnie and Lewis Sky, the piano-driven track hears Tamia belting the honeyed words of a bride who ready to share a lifelong commitment with her husband-to-be.
“I went into the studio with Lil’ Ronnie and Sickpen [Lewis Sky] with the intention of writing a wedding song. I envisioned a bride walking down the aisle,” Tamia said in a press release. “A wedding day is such a special moment in people’s lives and I wanted to write a song that could soundtrack that moment. The power of a love song never dies. It’s timeless.”
Tamia also shared a heartwarming visual for the soon-to-be wedding song. The video features rare footage from Tamia and Grant’s wedding.
“Today I Do” is the second release off Tamia’s forthcoming album Passion Like Fire, due September 7 via 21 Entertainment/Plus 1 Music Group/Entertainment One. “Leave It Smokin‘,” the album’s lead single, is burning up the R&B chart, maintaining its spot at No. 2 on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart. The Salaam Remi-helmed track is also No. 2 on the Urban Adult Contemporary radio chart.
Tamia will be heading out on the road to support her new album. She will kick off the series of shows in Cleveland on September 18 at the House of Blues. See the full tour itinerary below.
