Trey Songz is headed to the big screen in a leading role. The 33-year-old singer is set to star in Blood Brother, a crime drama slated to hit theaters and Video on Demand (VOD) on November 30.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the gritty thriller, which stars Songz as a compassionate cop, takes place in high crime area that finds his childhood friend and newly released convict, Jake, seeking revenge on those he believes betrayed him after a crime they committed together that went south.
For the Blood Brother trailer, Songz’ new twerk-worthy jam “How Dat Sound” with 2 Chainz and Yo Gotti is heard in the background. Along with music for the film, Trigga is “working on an album that’ll be coming out soon.” The LP will mark his first release since 2017’s Tremaine The Album.
Even though Blood Brother is Songz first major role, the singer has been on his acting grind for a while. He starred in Texas Chainsaw 3D and Baggage Claim.
