After lending their talents to the soundtrack for Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time, legendary band Sade returns with a new track titled “The Big Unknown.” The smooth joint is lifted from the soundtrack to Steve McQueen’s film, Widows, which stars Viola Davis.
“It was an honor to work with such a legend,” McQueen said. “Sade is an incomparable talent and incredible artist who so rarely releases new material, but luckily the original series of Widows had deeply resonated with her.”
In June, Sade bandmate Stuart Matthewman exclusively told Rated R&B that there was new music in the works. “We’re working on a new album,” he said. “The record company knows there’s no point in nagging us or giving us deadlines. It doesn’t really help the process.”
Widows will release in theaters on November 16.
