If there’s one album we can’t wait to get our hands on, it’s H.E.R.’s. The mysterious artist was recently spotted in the studio with musicians Sean Garrett, DJ Camper, and Luke Witherspoon III.
Known for penning and producing hits for superstars like Beyoncé, Usher and Mary J. Blige, Garrett posted a snippet on Tuesday (Jan. 22) of an instrumental that featured the caption, “19′” and fire emojis. Witherspoon, who is nominated for a Grammy this year for his work on PJ’s Gumbo Unplugged (Live), shared a photo and mentioned he created “memories” on his 30th birthday.
Most likely these creative geniuses are curating music for H.E.R.’s oft-delayed debut album, which is expected to arrive this year. We speculate she’ll debut new music during her 2019 Coachella set in April.
H.E.R is counting down to the 2019 Grammy Awards. She received five strong nominations, including Album of the Year (H.E.R.), Best R&B Album (H.E.R.), Best R&B Song (“Focus”), Best R&B Performance (“Best Part”), and Best New Artist. Hosted by Alicia Keys, the 61st Annual Grammy Awards airs live on Sunday, February 10, 2019, at 8 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. EST on CBS.
