Avant gives us another ‘four minutes’ to love him. The R&B veteran has returned with a new single called “Not Gone Lose” and it has that traditional R&B feel for all the lovers.
With embellishments of piano notes and strings, Avant insists upon making amends with his lady after enduring a riff in their relationship. His pleading words like “let’s not break up, let’s make up,” soothes the hurt from their lovers quarrel.
“Not Gon Lose” is the era-launching single off Avant’s ninth studio album, due out later this year. Serving as the follow up to 2015’s The VIII, the forthcoming project will be released through Mo-B Entertainment and its partnership with SRG-ILS Group.
“It’s about you,” said Avant to Rated R&B about listener takeaway for The VIII album. “I think that music nowadays is so self-absorbed. I think that for you to be the consumer, you have to want to buy something that has a personal connection to you. I’m shooting for getting back to hearing lyrics that can help me grow as a person.”
