“Hello, is it me you’re looking for?”
Music legend Lionel Richie is dialing up all his fans to announce the release date of his forthcoming live album, Live from Las Vegas.
Scheduled to ring on August 23 via Capitol Records, the new batch of live performances were recorded during his show at Zappos Theater at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino in 2018. Live from Las Vegas will include treasured songs like “All Night Long” “Hello” and “Dancing on the Ceiling,” as well as songs from his Commodores days like “Three Times a Lady” and “Easy.”
The album also will include a moving rendition of his Grammy-winning anthem “We Are the World,” which Richie co-wrote with Michael Jackson for USA for Africa in 1985.
To bring Live from Las Vegas full circle, Richie will hit the stage starting this May for his 32-date Hello Hits Tour. The first show kicks off on May 28 in Sugar Land, Texas, and will wrap on August 30 in St Paul, Minnesota. Tickets for most dates go on sale this Friday, March 29 on his official website.
“I am so excited to bring my Live from Las Vegas album to life and to share it with my fan,” said Richie in a press statement. “Also, I’m really looking forward to going on tour and performing for everyone this summer – it’s going to be one big party.”
In the meantime, Richie can be seen judging contestants on season 17 of American Idol on ABC.
