Legendary production and songwriting duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis hope to uplift and make us fall in love with music again with their forthcoming complication album of new music, Jam & Lewis: Volume One.

“Til’ I Found You,” the project’s lead single, brings together the powerful voices of Ann Nesby and the late-Big Jim Wright (of Sounds of Blackness) and Lauren Evans. The inspirational collaboration finds the trio opening up heavens doors with their strong vocal presence as they give praise and thanks to God most high.

When it came to selecting this moving new record to launch their new era, Jam expressed that he and Lewis wanted to take it back to the beginning when they signed Sounds of Blackness as the first act on their original Perspective Records. Their Grammy-winning album, The Evolution of Gospel, featured their number one single “Optimistic,” which Jam and Lewis co-composed and co-produced.

“It felt great to be back in the studio with Sounds of Blackness and create new music we’re really proud of,” shared Lewis in a statement. “The track definitely sets the tone for the album. We can’t wait for our fans to hear what’s next.”

Slated to arrive later this summer, Jam & Lewis: Volume One will release through their relaunched Perspective Records. The duo rebooted the label last year with legend Peabo Bryson as the centerfold.

“He’s such a quality artist,” Jam told Rated R&B in 2018. “He’s like that fabric maker who is bringing you the best silk and the best cotton in the highest quality. So when we put those fabrics together and custom make our suits, it’s the finest suit you can buy. We can try to put that same suit on someone else but they’re not going to be able to wear it like he can wear it. Peabo can wear it with so much class and sophistication, which is what he brings to music.”
