Like a “Boomerang,” Keith Sweat has made his return to the top on urban adult contemporary radio. His duet with rising star Candace Price has bumped its way to the number one spot on the airplay chart this week.
The romantic tune is Sweat’s second record of his career to claim this feat on this particular radio format. Most of his previous hits like “Twisted,” “Nobody” “I Want Her,” and “My Body” (as LSG) earned the coveted number slot on urban radio. His single “Good Love,” off 2016’s Dress to Impress scored his first chart-topper on urban AC radio.
“Boomerang” is lifted from Sweat’s 13th studio album Playing For Keeps. The album features appearances Akon, Teddy Riley, Tank, RayFade and K-Ci, who guest stars on his top-five hit “How Many Ways.”
Sweat is promoting his new album in select cities on spot dates. On April 6, the R&B veteran will be sharing the performance bill with the legendary Maze and Frankie Beverly in San Diego, California.
He will join Monica, Dru Hill, Ginuwine and Jon B on April 26 for a Ladies Night concert in Lexington, Kentucky. He will hit the stage for a couple of shows in May. Tickets are available now on most ticket hubs.
