Kiana Ledé knows what she wants. Never one to hold back, the emerging singer has released her new single titled “Can I,” and it’s guaranteed to get you in your feelings.
Through her lyrics, she’s known to wear her heart on her sleeve and convey a level of vulnerability that’s easy to digest. In her new song, Ledé lets a former flame know that they’ll always find their way back to each other even after it’s over.
The melodically bouncy mid-tempo production pairs well with her gentle, yet smoky tone. Professing her emotions on the first verse, she sings,“ Made a mistake, I can be straight with you / I was incapable of keeping away from you / I can’t even flex / Cause not even time and not even lies / Could take me away from you.”
Featured on our 9 R&B Artists to Watch in 2019 list, Ledé wrapped her stint on Ella Mai’s Debut tour earlier this year. She made her late night debut on Late Night with Seth Meyers last month and will be doing a few shows of her own in Washington, D.C. on June 5, Los Angeles on June 10 and Brooklyn, NY on June 12. Tickets are available on her official website.
