Beyoncé has stung again. Seven weeks after debuting on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs chart, the iconic superstar’s recharged version of Maze and Frankie Beverly’s “Before I Let Go” has made its way into the top 10 at No. 9 this week.
Surprisingly, this dance-along remake is Beyoncé’s sixth top 10 entry on this chart. “Drunk in Love,” her Grammy-winning single from her 2013 self-titled album, peaked at No. 8. Her previous singles that came close to entering the top 10 fold were “Dance for You” and “Listen.” Both tracks only respectively made it to No. 12.
“Before I Let Go” is lifted from Beyoncé’s Homecoming: The Live Album, a body of work that featured live recordings from her history-making Coachella set from last year. The song has sparked a viral dance challenge that Queen Bey showcases in her Instagram stories.
Beyoncé, whose tasty Lemonade album is now available for streaming everywhere, is one of the most nominated artists at the 2019 BET Awards. She is up for four trophies including Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Album of the Year for Everything is Love.
In other news, Beyoncé is starring as Nala in the Disney live-action remake of The Lion King. The film hits theaters on July 19. The trailer is available here.
