Earlier this year, Kevin Ross parted ways with Motown Records and formed his own imprint Art Society Music Group. Today, the talented singer-songwriter announces his new partnership with EMPIRE Distribution.
As part of his multi-year deal, EMPIRE will oversee the release of Ross’ new music, including his upcoming album Audacity.
“I’m excited for the partnership between my company Art Society Music Group and EMPIRE,” Ross said in a statement. “I’m ready to release the new project and grateful for the team that’s behind me to help me put it out to the world.”
EMPIRE’s A&R Delante Murphy added, “It’s very rare when you get to collaborate with talented people. My friend for a number of years, the incomparable Kevin Ross, renowned musician, artist, writer, producer, and songwriter whose skills akin to legends like Stevie Wonder, John Lennon, and Bob Dylan. After years of building, I’m glad to finally be working with him here at EMPIRE to create some of the best art sonically.”
Ghazi Shami, founder of EMPIRE, also shared his enthusiasm about Ross’ signing. “Kevin is a talented and versatile singer/songwriter,” he said. “We’re excited to welcome him to EMPIRE as he continues to craft timeless R&B music.”
Audacity is slated to release later this fall. It will follow Ross’ debut album, The Awakening, which released in 2017. The album spawned his hit single “Long Song Away,” which peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart.
