Yuna’s fourth album Rouge is out now on Verve Forecast Records. The new album is the Malaysian singer-songwriter’s first full-length release since 2016’s Chapters.
The 11-track effort includes the singles “Forevermore,” “Blank Marquee,” and “Castaway.” Rouge also features guest spots from Tyler, The Creator, G-Eazy, Masego, Little Simz, KYLE, Jay Park, and MIYAVI.
In a recent interview with The Boston Globe, Yuna shared the difference thematically between her albums Chapters and Rouge.
“I needed to talk about my breakup,” sad Yuna to Ken Capobianco. “It was my truth — so that was an important album because I was finally honest with myself and didn’t try to narrate a story. It became an emotional album, but with ‘Rouge,’ the heartbreak had long passed, and I’m in a place in my life where I’m happy and content. I met the love of my life, so that’s going to dictate how the songs sound.”
Yuna is currently on tour supporting her new album with special guest Skylar Stecker. The run makes it next stop on July 16 at Club in Washington, D.C.
