Estelle is taking her talents to the world of animation in Cartoon Network’s Steven Universe The Movie.
The Grammy winner not only stars in the musical, but she also has secured the first single for the animated-picture.
“True Kinda Love,” is an inspirational gem that finds Estelle looking defeat in the eyes. The singer overcomes it with the gift of love that she found deep within. She invites listeners to do the same.
“When a difficult day goes by, keeping it together is hard but that’s why / You’ve got to try, you’ve got to try / And when there’s a thundering storm outside, underneath the covers you huddle and hide / Open your eyes, open your eyes,” she vocalizes on the first verse.
“True Kinda Love” is one of 38 songs on the Steven Universe The Movie soundtrack, which is set to arrive on September 2 via Cartoon Network, Inc. The songs are composed by Rebecca Sugar in collaboration with talented artists Chance The Rapper, Gallant, James Fauntleroy, Aimee Mann, Macie Stewart, and others.
Steven Universe The Movie is slated to premiere on Cartoon Network on September 2 at 6 p.m. ET.
