It’s New Music Friday and Samm Henshaw wants a piece of the action. Months after assembling fans for “Church,” the British lad conjures up a crazy in love song titled “The World is Mine.”
Henshaw uses the title of the lovesick record as a double entendre, describing his lady as his world and claiming it’s all for him. The rapture of his lyric muse has him immersed in strong feelings that are hard to forgo. He is even willing to risk everything to be his woman.
Amidst “the sound of the sirens and caution signs,” Henshaw hopes she will do the same for him.
“The World is Mine,” which borrows the majestic beat from Nas’ 2002 hit “Made You Look,” is charged with an accompanying lyric video that depicts a high-speed chase in stop-motion animation.
