It may be ‘hot girl summer’ but The Colleagues (Karl “KP” Powell and Harrison Johnson) is here to spread some good ole love with their new album.
Titled Another Love Story, the compilation project features guest appearances from R&B gents including Raheem DeVaughn, Devon Culture, Devvon Terrell, The HamilTones and Vedo.
Speaking on Another Love Story, Powell tells Rated R&B, “We wanted to make something that couples could listen to. It’s a good balance between traditional R&B and modern R&B. We wanted to tell a story in a way, hence the title of the album. We also wanted the songs to be very relatable.”
Although The Colleagues has produced songs for hip-hop artists like 2 Chainz, Nipsey Hussle and Plies, they hope people will realize that their talent extends far beyond that genre. They’ve produced for R&B acts (DeVaughn, Tiffany Evans) and even for K-pop artists.
“We would like people to respect and notice our diversity in music,” Powell adds.
